According to the American Pet Product Manufacturers Association's (APPMA) 2003/2004 National Pet Owners Survey:

•31.1 million cats used a flea and tick product in the last 12 months –(40% of approximate 78 million cats in U.S.)

•37 million dogs used a flea and tick product in the last 12 months –(57% of approximate 65 million dogs in U.S.)

•Effectiveness and safety continue to be among the top reasons consumers choose a flea and tick control product.
